Tests for Industrial Applicants

Assessing the abilities of applicants who may apply for certain positions will be subject for the use of psychometric testing. Nowadays, a wide range of tests are now available which not only look at the technical abilities of the applicants, but also a number of qualifications. These would include their ability to work well in a team, their leadership ability and their long-term development potential.

Engineering and manufacturing jobs use aptitude tests to determine the ability of an individual for the specific role he or she is applying for. Here, a conventional interview may not effectively highlight how competent a person is on specific tasks, such as mechanical design or public limited company programming. Such tests are used in executive recruitment consultants and employers in conjunction with structured interviews.
